Assessing Office
This office is the “Hub of Barnstead”. It is in this office that the property files are kept and updated, copies of maps, deeds and property lists in paper or disk format are provided and Yield taxes and Current Use penalties are figured here.
The assessing office prepares the information that is given to the Department of Revenue to process the equalization ratio for the town and creates the town report.
We provide information to the public by phone as well as over the counter. The Assessor holds office hours on Wednesday, by appointment.
