Important
It is necessary to obtain a “Permit to Kindle a Fire” prior to any outside burning including brush fires, cooking fires, and seasonal camp fires. A permit to kindle a fire is also required for outdoor chimneys and other portable pottery or metal fireplaces.

Permits are required year round and are available at Station 2 located at 106 South Barnstead Road. If you should have any questions, please feel free to call us at 603-269-4121.

Home Safety
Fire Rescue offers a few suggestions:

1. Make sure you have your house number clearly visible from the street.

2. Make sure you have working smoke detectors and that you change your battery twice a year.  It is recommended that your detectors are run by battery and AC output.

3. Make sure to have any new heating system (including replacements) inspected as required by NH RSA.
